Tier List Overview Criteria

  • T0: This is the highest tier in a tier list, reserved for the most powerful or effective options in the game. Characters or strategies in this tier are considered to be essential picks for competitive play and are often banned in tournaments.
  • T1: This tier is just below T0-tier and includes characters or strategies that are still very strong and effective, but not quite as dominant as those in the T0-tier.
  • T2: This tier includes characters or strategies that are considered to be average or balanced in terms of their strength and effectiveness. They may have some strengths and weaknesses, but they are not as dominant as those in the higher tiers.
  • T3: This is the lowest tier in a tier list, reserved for the weakest or least effective options in the game. Characters or strategies in this tier are often considered to be inferior to other options and may be rarely used in competitive play.

It’s important to note that the exact definitions and criteria for each tier can vary depending on the game and the community creating the tier list. Additionally, a character or strategy’s placement in a tier list is not always an accurate reflection of its overall strength or effectiveness, as factors such as player skill and game balance can also play a significant role.

Acnh Tips and Tricks

Carefully Choose Your Starting Map

When you begin your adventure in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you’ll be presented with four randomly generated island maps to choose from. If none of them appeal to you, don’t worry – you can restart the game to see different options.

For the best start, look for an island with a large open area near the sea, surrounded by a river, as some parts of the island may be inaccessible at the beginning. Crafting a vaulting pole will allow you to cross rivers, and a ladder will help you reach higher ground, though it won’t be available immediately.

Remember that you’ll be spending a lot of time on your island, so make sure you settle on one with a pleasing appearance. If you’re sharing the game with family members on the same Switch, it’s wise to consider their preferences too since you’ll all be stuck with the same location.

Keep in mind that you can reset the game before completing the tutorial missions (at the end of the first day) if you’re dissatisfied with your island layout and want to choose a different one.

Lastly, when naming your island, remember that you won’t be able to change the name later, and the word “island” won’t be automatically added, so add it yourself if desired.

Strategic Placement of Tents and Buildings

Upon arriving on your island, Tom Nook will provide you with a tent and basic supplies. Carefully choose a spot for your tent, as it will eventually become your house and garden. Allow enough room for future expansions.

You’ll also need to find suitable plots of land for your neighbors, the museum, Nook’s Cranny shop, and the visitor center. Consider how these structures will look when they’re more than just tents. For example, avoid placing the museum tent right in front of your home, as it can obscure the view in the straight-on isometric view.

Remember that you can place starter tents and buildings on top of trees, so you don’t necessarily need a natural clearing. Additionally, once you have a proper axe, you can chop down trees that obstruct your plans.

Gather Resources Daily

Collecting resources is an essential part of the game, and new resources appear daily on your island. Nook Miles will be awarded to you for various actions, such as picking weeds, which you can use to pay back your initial loan for the tent and relocation.

As you progress, you’ll need to repay heftier loans for your house and further upgrades, which will require Bells instead of Nook Miles. Fortunately, everything on the island has value, and Timmy and Tommy Nook will buy anything you bring to them.

To maximize your income, take note of the items they pay the most for and seek out those resources more often. Even common items like weeds and fruit can be sold, ensuring you’ll always have a means of income.

Donate Unique Items, Sell the Rest

When you find items to sell, remember to save every fossil you dig up and every new bug or fish you catch. While Blathers in the museum won’t buy them, they will be great additions to the museum’s display. Donate these unique items to Tom Nook in preparation for Blathers’ arrival.

Fossil holes appear once a day and usually only a few will turn out to be duplicates in the early days. Selling these duplicates can fetch a good price. However, always keep certain items, like iron nuggets and clay, for crafting, as they become essential for future DIY recipes.

Manage Your Inventory Wisely

Starting with just a few tools, your “pockets” inventory will expand as your crafting skills improve. If you visit other islands, make sure you have enough empty slots to carry back any new items you might find.

Items dropped around your island will remain there indefinitely, so you can always pick them up later, even on different days. Once you progress to having a house, you’ll gain storage space for items you don’t need to carry with you at all times.

Interact with Guests and Watch for Surprise Packages

Keep an eye out for guests on your island who offer simple fetch quests. Completing these quests will reward you with items for your home or clothing. Also, regularly talk to your neighbors, as they might have items to give you too.

Look out for flying packages, indicated by a whooshing sound. These packages are tied to balloons and contain gifts. Use a slingshot to pop the balloons and collect the packages. Just be careful not to pop them over water, as the packages will sink.

Explore Other Islands with Nook Miles

Some resources may be scarce on your island, so use 2,000 Nook Miles to get a ticket and travel to randomly-generated islands. There, you can find different items and resources not available on your own island. Take your time, as there’s no time limit, and a crafting station will be provided in case your tools break.

Make sure to grab plenty of fruit from these islands, as they may have different types of fruit trees. You can bring these fruits back to your island and plant them to diversify your resources.

Keep in mind that you can’t return to the same island twice, so don’t leave anything important behind. If you have friends who play Animal Crossing: New Horizons, visiting their islands can also be beneficial for collecting new items.

Plant and Grow Fruit

Gather as much fruit as possible from other islands, as you can use them to grow specific trees on your own. Planting fruit types you’ve gathered will result in fully grown trees with the same fruit in a few days. You can then pick the fruit from these trees and plant them elsewhere on your island to have more of them.

Utilize Everything, Even “Trash”

Explore your island thoroughly, as you may find resources and critters in unexpected places. For example, centipedes will appear when you bash a rock with your axe, and even seemingly useless items like boots or tin cans can be used for crafting, so don’t throw anything away.

Beware of Spiders and Wasps

Not everything on your island is friendly. Beware of shaking too many trees, as you may disturb a wasps’ nest, resulting in a nasty sting. Always keep your net handy during encounters with spiders, as it will help you catch them without getting hurt.
